Oʻahu RC&D Agritourism Fact Sheet (contains topic description, farmer profile and valuable resources.)
Kylie Matsuda of Kahuku Farms invited our workshop participants to experience agritourism first hand including a wagon ride tour of the farm and lunch prepared by the Kahuku Farm’s onsite cafe.
Kylie and her family shared the history of the farm and Kylie shared important lessons learned in establishing their agritourism operation. Our guest speaker, Lani Weigert of the Hawaii Agri-Tourism Asssociation (HATA) shared valuable resources and perspective on the industry.
Agricultural tourism – Agritourism – allows farmers and other agricultural professionals to broaden their income base by offering visitors and locals a genuine experience in an agricultural setting.
