For the past several years, the Oʻahu RC&D has awarded substantial cash grants to assist farmers and other agricultural businesses. Funds have been used to expand operations, purchase equipment, and develop new products.

As many of you know, Congress has eliminated all earmarked funding from the federal budget for this fiscal year. The Oʻahu Agricultural Development Program (OADP), which allows us to provide grants to small farms, is one of those earmarks. We are searching for other support for this important and popular program, but at this time, there is no funding available and the program is on indefinite hold. We are sorry to have to extend such disappointing news.
