Hawaii Fish Farm

Project Description: Funding will be used to support the purchase of a new aerator and back-up generator to allow for increased fish production. More importantly, it will protect fish stocks during the winter months when there is insufficient sunlight for the aquatic plants to photosynthesize enough dissolved oxygen to support existing fish densities.

Hawaiian Turfgrass

Project Description: Funding will be used to install and upgrade an irrigation system to incorporate, recycle and reuse water from a neighboring koi pond to irrigate commercial turf grass. The nutrient-rich recycled water will reduce the company’s water and fertilizer costs, and reduce overall water use from the Waiahole Ditch. The savings will allow the company to hire its first employees.
